It groups standby sites into three families: &#8216;cold&#8217; (cheapest, slowest to bring online), &#8216;warm&#8217; and &#8216;hot&#8217; (ready immediately, most expensive). A DRP to instances started on demand sits between cold and warm; a BCP is on the hot side.<\/p><p>The ISO 22301 standard follows the same logic: assess what an outage exceeding the tolerable interruption period costs, and compare it with the cost of standby resources. If three people with a loaded cost of \u20ac40 an hour cannot work for an eight-hour day, the outage already costs nearly \u20ac1,000 in salaries, before lost revenue.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0076ab5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0076ab5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>What drives the bill up or down<\/h2><ul><li>The amount of history kept so that a clean version can be chosen.<\/li><li>The number of servers in the DRP.
